We love wood and, as a result, even in the finishing phase, we prefer to accentuate the value of the wood that we use in building the shell, instead of hiding it under thick layers of varnish.
We are, furthermore, convinced that the wood must sound off freely, without being obstructed by foreign materials, specially if these are synthetic.
Each shell and snaredrum carrying Alipio's Drums mark is, therefore, completed in the least invasive way possible, with an attempt to accentuate the beauty of the wood used to build it.
To protect the shell, we use natural varnishes and waxes. These, in addition to respecting the environment, guarantee an aesthetic result that is of a superior level.
Given the care with which our snaredrums are built and the good quality of the materials used to build them, it is our strong belief that our snaredrums deserve all the caring that musicians reserve to their own instruments without forgetting, however, that it is often necessary to use them in "extreme" situations.
A little care and some maintenance will be sufficient to keep these instruments in good shape for a long time...
You may get some of our suggestions (in .pdf format) to best preserve the instruments that we have built from the "download" section.
